If one has the urge to write down a complete thought, a handsome notebook gives it more class.
So begins this wonderful essay in the New York Times Review of Books called Take Care of Your Little Notebook by Charles Simic. It was written in October 2011 and I have so enjoyed reading it. I’m not against Smartphones and neither is the author, but he writes eloquently about the value of our thoughts, disjointed and mystifying thought they may later prove to be, especially to our grandchildren. But what a delightful puzzle to leave them.
