Finally, the return of 642 Things Thursday: What you would run out of the house with if your house caught on fire.
Easy. Assuming my husband, dad and cats are safely outside, the one thing I would run out of the house with is….as many of my mother’s diaries as I could safely carry. She kept a diary for a lot of her adult years and when she passed away almost 14 years ago we gathered up all of her diaries as my father moved house and provinces. Most of them live now in my house with us, and my sister has a few. We have grand plans to get them transcribed or copied somehow, someday. They are irreplaceable so that’s what I would try to grab if the house was in flames. Everything else is just stuff.
Happy Birthday Mom. Miss you every day.
Next week: Something you’ve always regretted saying.

For me it would be hubby and the dogs
As you say everything else is just stuff
I can’t even imagine how special it must be to have your Mother’s diaries
Treasure them always

Yes people and fur babies first, always. And yes my sister and I do treasure her diaries. We read especially funny passages to each other sometimes which are so much fun, it’s like she’s in the room with us again.
