Yesterday I treated myself to a couple hours at Chapters. And I wanted to share a few things I found.
On the left are three more Studio Oh! Notebooks. I use these in my Fauxdori and my Flex Planner. I love these journals; at $9.99 for three they are a bargain. And these are stitch bound as opposed to staple bound, which I have never seen before.
Moving towards the right I couldn’t resist the Walk in the Woods Page Flags from Girl of All Work. I must admit I’m not a huge user of flags but these were so cute and they were on clearance for $2.00, so I couldn’t resist. I’ve seen people just use them as decoration on their journal pages so I may do that. They are so busy you wouldn’t see the writing on them anyway. Well, most of them; the bird one on the far right would show writing but the others, not so much.
Way back in June of 2013 I wrote a post about Keri Smith’s Wreck this Journal and yesterday I finally bought myself one. I’m amazed at how many Youtube videos there are showing completed journals of this kind. It all looks like fun. No idea when I’m going to get to this but I’m looking forward to it. I really do think it will help me get over my “this is too pretty to write in” attitude. I think it will be good for me. I’ll share pictures of some of the finished pages as I do them.
I also found the Writers Workshop in a Book: The Squaw Valley Community of Writers on the Art of Fiction. This writer community gets together every summer in Squaw Valley, California. They have a Poetry Workshop, a Writers Workshop and a Screenwriting Workshop. I love the idea of attending something like this but each workshop is just under $1,000 US. So I was thrilled to find this book which is full of the collected wisdom from the workshop attendees.
And finally I found this set of Postcards. They are really vintage looking and I fell in love with them. They were also on clearance at $5.00. I don’t know if I will actually send them out; probably include them in packages and put them in my journal.
It’s a rainy, stormy night here (my favorite kind!!) so I’m off to curl up with my journal. Happy writing everyone.
