Going strong with the Manuscript pen. My next pen will be chosen on July 29.
Purchases: I reviewed the package from Erin Condren in this post. I have not made any other pen/notebook/ink related purchases this week. Keep reading and you’ll find out why.
Some points covered this week in my journals:
- We threw a bridal shower for my niece this past weekend. It was a very elegant affair with food, drink, a shower game and gifts. I was the MC and one of three co-hosts, and it was a hot, crazy, wonderful evening. I supplied the pens and pencils for the game and advice cards, and I bought a pack of InkJoy pens and 5 packages of Staples pencils. There was a lot of love and happiness in the air and no one more deserving than the bride. This weekend is the wedding so I may or may not have posts up.
- I am a mentor to a wonderful young woman at my company. Last week she was involved in a difficult situation and I tried to give her honest and constructive advice. Navigating the work world is never easy and I think we both learned something as a result. I am so impressed with how she handled herself.
- I am a mortgage paying home owner, and happy to be so. But this week I was reminded of the carefree renter lifestyle, and I missed it. We found out we needed a new furnace. Those appliances are not cheap; this one cost almost as much as our wedding and honeymoon (we had a very small affair BUT STILL!) We were lucky to find it a) in the summer and b) before the leaking carbon monoxide made us sick. Or worse. We now have a spanking new furnace with two spanking new carbon monoxide detectors (called Night Hawks which I think is very cool) and peace of mind as the year turns toward winter. Gonna have to put the brakes on the retail therapy though. And eating probably.
Until next post, happy writing!
